Holy Eucharist

As a Catholic parish, every time the community gathers to celebrate the Holy Mass, those who have been admitted to Communion are invited to receive the Eucharist. Of course, to receive Holy Communion, a person must fully participate at the Mass from beginning to end, be in a state of Grace, and not be barred by any canonical penalty.

If your child has not received your first Holy Communion, please contact our Faith Formation Director at 516-568-1027. For those who are Baptized as infants, the reception of First Holy Communion usually occurs when the child is in 2nd grade. First and Second graders enrolled in our Religious Education program are already be prepared to receive Holy Communion.

For children who are not enrolled in Religious Education, there is at least a two year formation program to prepare for the reception of Holy Communion. If a child, for some reason or other, did not receive Holy Communion in 2nd grade, he or she should contact the Religious Education office to begin the process of preparing for the Sacrament.

If you are an adult and have not received Holy Communion, please see our Adult Initiation page.
